The Bo High Court presided over by Justice Naomi Tunis has sentenced a thirty five year old man, Nwadiolor Iseamyi Ifezuo to twenty years imprisonment for unlawful possession of a large quantity of cocaine. In a judicial hearing at the Bo High Court the Principal State Counsel of the Law Office, Monfred Sesay told the court that Ifezuo was found guilty of unlawful possession of Cocaine contrary to the Drug Act 2008.
It could be recalled that Ifezuo was arrested by a team of Criminal Investigations Department officers headed by Sergeant Ibrahim Hallaby at Madam Wokie Hotel, 24 Dambala Road in Bo town, southern province. He was found in possession of 35 parcels of cocaine in conflake packets under his luggage.
The 35 parcels of cocaine were valued at thirty thousand dollars (US$30,000) which is equivalent to ninety million leones (Le90,000,000). The convicted person, a Nigerian has already been sent to the Pademba Road maximum Security Prison. Also, out of the sixteen cases of drug related offenses before the Bo High Court, six have been concluded and the guilty persons are now serving sentences.
