The Peoples’ Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) is now referred to by youths of the Free Pentecostal Church back of Approved School, Wellington as Peoples Movement for Dishonest Chaps as the party failed to pay to the church one million Leones pledged on the Party’s behalf by PMDC strongman Bamidele Thompson during the church’s Woman of the Year programme in October 2009..
“We have brought the issue to the notice of the Leader Charles Francis Margai, the Chairman Mohamed Bangura and the entire executive of the PMDC but nothing has happened since the pledge was made,” Allen Bundor of Calvary Free Pentecostal Church, Approved School Wellington said.
Mr. Bamidele Thompson who attended the service on the invitation of one of the contestants in the Woman of the Year programme and PMDC student activist Emmanuel Bawoh pledged on behalf of the party to support the church with one million Leones. “Since that last Sunday in October last year, I have complained to the entire PMDC executive but Bamidele hasn’t replied the church,” Emmanuel Bawoh Said.
By strange coincidence, this year. Despite the millions the party spent on their Easter Monday none has stood up to honour the pledge.
“This is not a serious party. Aren’t you reading how Margai and Bangura are fighting?” one of the youths told The Punch.
