After thirty two years of active service, Yomba Dominic Fasuluku finally resigned his job as Financial Attaché at the Sierra Leone High Commission in London.
He was honoured by his colleagues at a special farewell ceremony at the mission’s office on 41 Eagle Street, Holborn, West Central London.
It was a memorable moment of joy – dancing and singing; but there was also moment of sorrow, as colleagues paid glowing tributes to the mission’s longest serving diplomat who’s sacrificial services to colleagues and country in general had been remarkable and very much appreciated.
Out-going High Commissioner Melvin Chalobah, said Fasuluku will be greatly missed by members of staff of the mission considering his remarkable and outstanding services during his tenure.
Deputy High Commissioner Tamba Mansa Ngebah, said he had known Fasuluku for over two decades since his (Ngebah) student days. He described him as a very reliable and committed worker.
Head of Chancery Florence Bangali, who chaired the occassion, said they are saying goodbye to Fasuluku with mixed feelings considering his dedicated services to the mission.
She appealed to Fasuluku to continue to provide his services to the mission at anytime he is called upon.
Office Manager Ulic Caramba Coker, on behalf of the local staff, expressed similar compliments to Fasuluku, adding that he is a dedicated and committed worker - one of few workers who stayed with the mission during those difficult times.
Responding, Fasuluku thanked his former collagues for their support, saying that he considers them as family members rather than colleagues.
Counsellor Josephine Marah, gave the vote of thanks, but that was after Ola Williams presented a gift on behalf of the mission.
Former Senior Accountant at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, John Ellen, stepped into Fasuluku's shoes as the new Financial Attaché of the mission.
